CITY.NET Cafe

April 8, 2014 /   City.Net Jazz Cafe

CITY.NET Café may just be Milwaukee's jazziest place to enjoy a cup of joe. Located at 306 E. Wisconsin Ave., the coffee house prides itself on something extremely unique--live jazz. And if it's not live, you're still certain to hear the likes of Count Basie, Miles Davis and John Coltrane playing through the speakers.

Owner Sam Belton, a jazz percussionist and former music teacher in Milwaukee's inner city, opened CITY.NET Café downtown just last year. Prior to his downtown location, he operated CITY.NET at 72nd and Burleigh, and before that he ran a coffee shop on the lower level of the Milwaukee County Courthouse.

While the music is one perk, another reason CITY.NET stands out from the crowd is that Belton roasts his own coffee under the label Abyssinia Coffee Roasters. Abyssinia sources organic beans from around the globe and roasts them in small batches. Customers can also purchase Abyssinia beans for home brewing.

Aside from a very fresh cup of coffee, customers can also order coffee and espresso drinks, teas, smoothies, SAMiches, salads, soups and desserts.

CITY.NET Café is open Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with free Wi-Fi. For more info, visit www.citynetjazz.com or call 414.339.1726.
