Summer is coming, and what better way to enjoy the beautiful scenery and livelihood of Milwaukee than to sip on some old-fashioneds around the city? Whether you’re an out of towner, Milwaukee native, or prefer to have them made with bourbon… Here’s a few to sprinkle in throughout this season.
The Loungey Old Fashioned - Blu at the Pfister
Looking for a place to lounge, relax, and simply drink in the view that is Milwaukee? The 23rd-floor at the Pfister hotel bar offers the perfect panoramic view of downtown Milwaukee and Lake Michigan. But you can’t look at a beautiful skyline without a drink in your hand! Their array of cocktails, martinis, and wine are bound to satisfy what you are looking for. Better yet, The Blu has live music both Fridays and Saturdays after 7 pm. So if you’re looking for the perfect mixture of relaxation and enjoyment, The Blu is there for you.
The Old Fashioned with a view - Harbor House
Want a closer look to Milwaukee’s lakefront shore? Harbor House, a New-England style seafood restaurant offers a three-sided bar, a raw bar, an open kitchen, as well private dining rooms for special events and parties. Prefer outside than inside? Their seasonal outdoor patio features a full bar, Adirondack chairs, and most importantly the view of the lake, the Milwaukee Art Museum, and Milwaukee’s famous skyline. Stop by for their weekday happy hour offers, including 89-cent oysters and other drink specials!
The Hot Spot Old Fashioned - 3rd Street Market Hall
Have you heard the buzz? 3rd Street Market Hall opened in 2022 and is a mixture of both Milwaukee natives and visitors, celebrating Milwaukee’s culture. Be it their cuisine, drinks, sports games, or overall entertainment, stop by and take a quick stroll to view all what the 3rd Street Market Hall has to offer. From their Venezuelan arepas, famous hoagies, Supernova Donuts, to their Middle Eastern food, sushi, and anything else you can think of, 3rd Street Market is bound to have it. But first, stop by the Market Hall Bar, order an old-fashioned and something to eat from any vendor at the market without ever having to leave your seat!
The Out of Towner Old Fashioned - SafeHouse
Prefer the Old Fashioned but with bourbon? Look no further than to visit SafeHouse, the spy bar and restaurant everyone knows and loves. Behind the big red door, enjoy a fun night at their Milwaukee bar, or if you’re in a different mood, check out their family-friendly restaurant. Grab your fellow spies and enjoy their Happy Hour, Karaoke, Jukebox Bingo, and more. Prefer late night missions? Adults 21 and above are encouraged to find the red door after 9pm on Fridays & Saturday and go CODE RED. Celebrate the weekend at their Milwaukee bar with a live DJ, dancing, and drink specials!
