Postman's Porch

Postman's Porch Returns in 2020 with Major Improvements

From pop-up to permanent, Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21, in partnership with the City of Milwaukee and surrounding properties, broke ground on new improvements at Postman Square in June 2020. What started out with simple bistro tables, new sod and plantings have grown into a neighborhood amenity for the hundreds of residents living around the square.

Postman Square will transform into an urban outdoor oasis, featuring dog-friendly PetTurf, a common application used in urban dog parks, a brick patio, and year-round seating. Additional improvements include new uplighting on the sculpture. In 2019, Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21, and surrounding properties reinvested in the square and offered free programming for neighborhood residents, including Postman's Porch Unplugged. The series will return on Tuesday, August 25, and as CDC health guidelines permit small outdoor gatherings.
