Mardi Gras Skywalk Festival

Downtown Milwaukee’s skywalk system hosted a Mardi Gras celebration on Fat Tuesday 2022, featuring a New Orleans-style brass band, local drag queens, and beads, beads, and more beads!

The Mardi Gras Skywalk Parade began in the 100 East Wisconsin – Empire Building skywalk over the Milwaukee River, and proceeded through the Empire Building, ASQ Center, Plankinton Arcade, and The Avenue. The event had show-stopping performances at two recently installed murals in the Plankinton Avenue and 2nd Street skywalks, and a final lunchtime performance in the 3rd Street Market Hall.

Mardi Gras hats, masks, and beads were encouraged!
