Buorsajo Boutique and Althea’s Fine Lingerie Spring into East Town
There’s no denying that downtown Milwaukee’s retail scene is coming into its own, particularly in the core of East Town. The streets of Broadway, Milwaukee and Jefferson have welcomed new retailers. Most recently, new clothing boutiques, Buorsajo Boutique and Althea’s Fine Lingerie opened their doors for downtown customers. Located between Wells and Mason streets, just one block south of Cathedral Square Park, the new retailers join recently opened Kesslers Diamonds and long-time mainstays like Scandinavia Fine Furniture, Zita Bridal Salon, and George Watt & Sons. With boutiques, salons, spas and hotels all within walking distance, a shopping destination has emerged.
Located at 773 North Jefferson Street, Buorsajo Boutique offers a variety of options for today’s casual women wardrobe. Buorsajo Boutique owner Meg Rittgers explains that the store features a wonderful selection of apparel, totes, hats and handcrafted jewelry from artists around the globe along with scents and lotions from Wisconsin’s very own Soapworks. Above all, the store features handbags and small leather goods handcrafted and custom-made by Rittgers. “Having a store to showcase them is a dream come true,” said Rittgers, who is happy to bring a new shop for the downtown savvy shoppers to find everyday apparel as well as hard to find and one of a kind items.
Just next door, Althea’s Fine Lingerie recently opened at 777 North Jefferson Street. The store features a variety of lingerie options for all women. The intimate boutique invites passersby with a warm storefront in the heart of the retail district.
