Access HealthNet Makes Healthcare More Efficient
Access HealthNet, a healthcare technology company on the 10th floor of 105 W. Michigan St., is paving the way for technology startups in Milwaukee. Access HealthNet administers a cloud-based technology platform where self-insured businesses can go to shop for pre-negotiated bundled, flat-rate medical procedures that range from basic lab work to orthopedics. It is a free-market solution that utilizes technology to remove the costly middleman and cut straight to healthcare providers, making healthcare tremendously more affordable.
Milwaukee’s startup ecosystem lays a strong foundation for entrepreneurs to make ideas into reality. In the early stages of the company’s life, Access HealthNet established its business downtown to take advantage of incubation resources and to connect with other key technology leaders. According to co-founder Eric Haberichter, “The startup ecosystem in Milwaukee has really developed over the last several years and we expect to see it continue to blossom. This infrastructure allows companies to get started in a very economical fashion, with supporting business resources and partnerships with similar entrepreneurial companies.”
Through this system of going straight to the providers, Access HealthNet is creating a marketplace where employers and employees will know exactly what a procedure will cost in advance and providers are paid, in full, within 21 days of the procedure. Their innovation and growth is a testament to downtown Milwaukee’s growing startup environment.
